Borgonari e la Quercia

Terroir

The Roccaverano area is characterised by its significant differences in altitude and varied, rugged landscape. This unique combination of soil, climate and vegetation forms the basis for distinctive wines with a pronounced identity.

What makes our wines unique?

Height

The vineyards are spread across slopes with significant differences in altitude. This ensures fresh air circulation and a clear difference between day and night temperatures. As a result, the grapes ripen slowly and retain their pure aromas and refined acids.

Soil

The subsoil consists of ancient geological layers, Pliocene and Miocene formations and Pleistocene deposits, rich in limestone and sandstone. Weathering has created calcareous clay and sandy soils that give the wine a mineral, refined taste.

Natural vegetation

The area is rich in wild herbs and shrubs that surround the vineyards. This natural biodiversity subtly influences the aroma of the grapes and contributes to the recognisable scent and freshness of the wines.

Climate

The microclimate of Roccaverano is cool in summer and harsh in winter, with significant temperature differences between day and night. This results in slower ripening and intense aromas, ideal for sparkling wines such as the Metodo Classico Alta Langa.

Our wines

BORGONARI E LA QUERCIA produces white, red and rosé wines and even very good sparkling wines.

We are the only ones to offer unique wines from Roccaverano, made with varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Riesling grown in our own vineyards at an altitude of 600 metres.
